Cancellation of Occasional Care

We need 24 hrs to notice in writing to cancel care. If you have already paid for the care, it will be put into credit for the next time you need care.

You are to pay either via EFT, Pay Pass or Cash for occasional care only.

Fees information as follows

Fees are payable either weekly. Fees must be paid on days your child is sick or absent for any reason. Fees are not charged when the centre is closed over Christmas or on Public Holidays.

Parents can pay via our Direct Debit system. You will be emailed receipts and invoices weekly or upon request.

A non-refundable enrolment fee of $35 is to be paid on the day of registration this is required for all families including occasional care families.

You will be given a brightly coloured bucket hat on your child's first day.

Security Deposit

You will be required to pay a two-week full fee security deposit that is going towards your first few weeks fees. This enables us to set up Direct Debit and your Centrelink CCS on your account. Once your direct debit and Childcare Subsidy has been activated on your account your fees can then be paid through direct debit on a weekly basis.

Your Security Deposit will be applied to your fees, once your credit has run out, your payments will be activated through Direct Debit.

Although we don't have a minimum or maximum amount of preferred days of attendance, we believe that children benefit more from attending the centre for a minimum of two days.

Makeup Days

Please be aware that days cannot be swapped for any reason.  Children cannot make up for lost days due to illness or other circumstances; we are operating at full capacity so we are unable to successfully implement a process of makeup days that would be fair for all families. We would be relying on other children being absent for you to be able to access a make-up day

Childcare Subsidy (CCS)

What is Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?
Child Care Subsidy (otherwise known as CCS) is a government fee assistance program to help families with the costs of childcare. The CCS program has come into effect for all approved child care services from 2 July 2018. The subsidy is paid after the care has been provided and your child's session report has been sent through by the child care provider.

Wind in the Willows Childcare Centre is an approved child care service provider, so we're more than happy to answer questions if our families require assistance.

If you're not yet part of The Willows family – welcome! For a free, personalised tour around the centre, we recommend you book a tour with our Centre Director.

How does this differ from Child Care Benefit (CCB)?
Child Care Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR) is no longer available as it has been combined with the new Child Care Subsidy program, effective from 2 July 2018. The means-tested Child Care Subsidy is better targeted and provides more assistance to low- and middle-income families.

The single-payment Child Care Subsidy is designed to be simpler to navigate than the previous multi-payment systems and will be paid directly to the family's childcare provider. It is then the family's responsibility to cover the difference left over. We can help our families through the process of setting up CCS.

If you'd like to book a tour or enrol, please fill out your details on our booking form.

What is an approved child care centre?
Approved child care providers are those that have been approved by the Australian Government for CCS purposes for meeting certain standards and requirements. Services must also meet the new quality standards set out under the National Quality Framework (NQF).

Examples of child care services that could be approved include:

  • Long day care
  • Family day care
  • After school care
  • Vacation care
  • In-home care
  • Occasional care

In our case, Wind in the Willows Childcare Centre is an approved "long day" child care provider which is eligible for Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

Withdrawal of your enrolment

Four weeks notice in writing is required before your child leaves the centre. We also ask that if you wish to decrease your child's days, two weeks written notice is also required.

Separation anxiety

All children need a chance to settle in. They all react to situations in different ways. This may be an equally difficult time for parents. We have an orientation process which involved parents and their child spending time at the centre in the child's room. This is done over several 1-hour visits. Parents are encouraged to spend time with their children at the centre then build up leaving them alone for the hour.

Please don't hesitate to call teachers at any time if you are concerned. It is important that you say goodbye to your child, relax and show confidence and your child will feel more at ease. If can be very distressing to a child if he/she does not understand where the parent is. or does not realise they are gone. Disappearing without warning and lingering after goodbyes can confuse your child and result in them being less willing to accept your departure for the following day. Please call the centre as many times as you need throughout the day, and our Teachers will contact you to update you on your child's progress throughout the day.
